A shopping mall gave Southgate its name. When residents incorporated on October 8, 1958, first mayor Thomas J. Anderson took the name from the Southgate Shopping Center then rising at Eureka and Trenton roads, and he liked that it described a city “south of Detroit.” The land has a much longer story: Pierre Michel Campau started farming here in 1795, back when it was part of Ecorse Township. The city now counts 30,014 residents on 6.9 square miles of Downriver land, roughly 14 miles from downtown Detroit.
Every Southgate rental starts at our Southfield base, and the car makes the trip down to you.

Southgate puts you minutes from the Detroit River, Grosse Ile, and the airport, which makes it a convenient home base for a Ferrari weekend. Our prep before the drive down includes a full detail and inspection. On arrival, our team member shows you every control that matters, then leaves you with a concierge number that’s answered day or night.
Planning a wedding or a celebration with more than one car? Two Ferraris can be booked for the same day, subject to what's free. A Portofino M for the couple and a Roma for the best man and maid of honor make a natural pair, since both are front-engine grand tourers with a similar look. A 488 or F8 Tributo adds contrast if you want one car to stand out. Send your Southgate date, and we'll tell you which combinations are open.
Southgate quotes come as a single all-in number. The handover doesn't add to it, and the return doesn't either. Model choice, rental length, and season are what move it up or down, and you'll see the effect of each before paying anything.
Drop-off can happen at a driveway off Northline Road, a workplace on Eureka, or a side street by Dix-Toledo. Concierge members skip delivery and pickup fees within a fixed zone around our base; the quote tells you if your Southgate street is in it. Non-members pay delivery only where it applies, and it's itemized up front.
When CNBC drove the 488 GTB, it found the car "comforting and intuitive" from the driver's seat. Unlike some Ferraris of the past, the reviewer wrote, "anyone can get in the 488 and drive to the store with just a 30-second primer." The paddle shifters, dials, window controls, and suspension settings were all "right where you would expect them to be," which means less time learning the car and more time enjoying it. Want open air? The Spider version trades the fixed roof for a retractable hardtop.

Goodwood drove the F8 Tributo from Maranello into the mountains along the old Futa Pass toward Florence and came back calling it "as good a mid-engined Ferrari as the legislators will allow you." On cracked, broken pavement, it found the car tracked "straight and true." The review was also candid about one quirk: at walking pace around town, the carbon-ceramic brakes can feel grabby. It's an easy thing to adjust to, and we show you how at the handover.

CAR magazine drove the Roma on British roads and found the ride "surprisingly sweet for such a poised, responsive car," even without the softer bumpy-road setting. It praised the "keen but calm steering" and gearshifts that are "complete before you know you've asked for them." The boot has decent room, and the small rear seats fold down to add more luggage space. CAR's verdict was simple: on the move, "this is a true Ferrari."

Motor1 tested the Portofino M on the island roads of the Florida Keys and scored it 8.9 out of 10. The reviewer found it handled pockmarked pavement "with poise," praised the "gobs of low-end torque" and the "exceptionally quick" 8-speed gearbox, and concluded that it "proves genuinely competent as a daily driver." Motor1 also admitted the seats left its reviewer a little sore after three hours at the wheel, so plan a break or two on longer trips.

IEEE Spectrum, the flagship magazine of the engineering organization IEEE, named the SF90 Stradale one of its top ten tech cars of 2021. The editors highlighted its three electric motors, including one for each front wheel, which control traction precisely and add up to 217 horsepower of electric boost. They also pointed to a brake-by-wire system that blends energy recovery with the hydraulic brakes. It's a showcase of how far Ferrari's engineering has moved into the hybrid era.

Prices across the five cars cover a wide range, so every Southgate quote is built around one model and one window of dates.
Booking a day handles one event; booking a weekend or a week gives you breathing room, usually at a lower average daily cost.
A refundable hold is part of every booking. Its size depends on which Ferrari you pick, and the SF90 Stradale requires the biggest. Driving is unlimited for the first 150 miles from pickup, plenty for a day in Ann Arbor or a run up I-94 to Port Huron. Trips beyond that, out of state, or across to Canada must be approved by us beforehand.
Included every time: cleaning inside and out, a pre-delivery inspection, and a guided handover. That handover is where we explain drive modes and quirks like the F8's brake feel at low speed or how the Portofino M's roof operates. Concierge help is always a call away.
Share which Ferrari you’d like, how many days, and where in Southgate. The response will include whether that car is open and an itemized total.
Everything below is confirmed when you book, so the delivery itself stays quick.
Our team will ask to see a valid driver's license at delivery. Age rules are model-specific here, so the minimum age requirement for your Ferrari gets confirmed when you reserve.
Check your own policy first: it needs full coverage plan, it has to extend to rentals, and its limits must match a Ferrari's value. A policy that misses any of those can be supplemented with short-term coverage from us, active only during the rental. Guests visiting from abroad qualify after an online driver check using their passport and home license, with an International Driving Permit added for licenses from Asia, Central America, or South America. Results can take from a day to several, which is why overseas renters should book with time to spare.
We take card payments as well as Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo, Cash App, and cash. Paying the deposit is what reserves the car, and the paperwork is reviewed with you, term by term, when the car is handed over.
From big receptions on Fort Street to a quiet island drive, Southgate keeps a Ferrari busy.
Crystal Gardens on Fort Street is one of Downriver's larger event venues, with six rooms that host anywhere from 30 to 1,500 guests and a dedicated chapel for weddings, vow renewals, and anniversaries. The same company also runs events at the Grosse Ile Country Club for parties of up to 225. Either setting pairs well with a Ferrari waiting at the curb. We time delivery and pickup to your event, from the ceremony to the send-off.
Grosse Ile's East River Road is a National Historic District lined with period architecture along the Detroit River, which makes it an elegant backdrop for a car. Many properties there are private, so shoot from public areas and ask permission before setting up on anyone's land. Closer to home, Southgate's 30-acre Nature Center offers a green setting, though commercial shoots in city parks may need a permit. Short productions sometimes suit an hourly arrangement, and we can tell you which models allow it.
For a relaxed loop, head to Riverview and cross to Grosse Ile on the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge, a privately owned span that opened on November 27, 1913. Follow East River Road through the island's historic district. Grosse Ile's lighthouse, the North Channel Range Light, was built in 1894, rebuilt in 1906, and bought by the township for $350 in 1965. The island also hosted a Naval Air Station from 1929 to 1969 that trained American and British fliers during World War II. Return over the free Wayne County Bridge, a former railroad bridge, into Trenton. When winter arrives, road salt and slush are a poor match for these cars, all-wheel-drive SF90 included, so check with us before booking cold-weather dates.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport is about 12 miles west of Southgate, and Eureka Road runs most of the way there. A handover at the airport means your Ferrari is ready as soon as you land. We’ll need your flight details to choose a meeting spot and time with you. If you’re bringing big suitcases, tell us, since the 488, F8 Tributo, and SF90 have very little room for them, and send an update if your flight changes.
Homes anywhere in Southgate, offices and shops on Fort Street or Eureka Road, and nearby hotels are all fair game for delivery. Wyandotte, Riverview, Allen Park, Taylor, Lincoln Park, Brownstown, and Grosse Ile are covered as well. We’ll set the time and place together ahead of your rental.

Rates are individual to each car, topping out with the SF90 Stradale. Spreading the rental over more days generally trims the per-day figure. Send us a model and dates to get the exact number.
There’s no single answer, because the requirement follows the model you choose. Your reservation isn’t finalized until we’ve matched the requirement to your chosen car and seen a valid license.
